Understanding the Trilogy Pro Technology

The Trilogy Pro combines three different wavelengths to target hair follicles at various depths within the skin, ensuring comprehensive treatment for a wider range of skin types and hair colors:

  • Alexandrite (755 nm): Ideal for lighter skin tones; efficiently targets fine and medium hair
  • Diode (810 nm): Versatile wavelength that balances effectiveness and safety across a broad range of skin tones
  • Nd:YAG (1064 nm): Best for darker skin tones; penetrates deeply while minimizing hyperpigmentation risk

Why Multiple Sessions Are Necessary

Hair growth occurs in three phases — Anagen (active growth), Catagen (transitional), and Telogen (resting). Laser treatment is most effective during the Anagen phase, when hair is attached to the follicle. Since not all hairs are in this phase at the same time, most patients require 4 to 6 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.

Why It's Hair Reduction, Not Permanent Removal

While laser hair removal significantly reduces hair growth, it doesn't permanently eliminate all hair. Over time, some follicles may regenerate due to hormonal changes. However, treated hair becomes finer, lighter, and less noticeable — making maintenance treatments an excellent option for long-term smoothness.

Note: if your hair has grayed, laser won't be effective (no melanin to target). In that case, electrolysis is the alternative.

What to Expect During and After Treatment

  • Minimal discomfort: The Trilogy Pro's sapphire tip gets very cold — that's what you feel rather than heat. It also cools surrounding skin so the heat is focused on the hair follicle
  • Quick sessions: As little as 15 minutes depending on the treatment area
  • Temporary redness: Mild redness or swelling typically subsides within a few hours
  • Gradual reduction: Visible results appear after a few sessions, with continued improvement over time
