In brief

Restylane is a family of hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers used to smooth lines, restore volume, and enhance features like the lips and cheeks — with immediate, natural-looking results and no downtime. Because it’s hyaluronic acid, it’s also reversible.

Overview

The Restylane Filler Family

Restylane fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance your skin produces naturally. Injected beneath the skin, they instantly add volume and smooth folds — and because the body recognizes hyaluronic acid, results look and feel natural.

The line includes several formulations tuned for different areas: fuller, more structured products for cheeks and deep folds, softer gels for lips and fine lines, and flexible formulas that move naturally with expression. At your visit we choose the right product for each area.

Treatment takes minutes, results are immediate, and if you ever want to adjust, hyaluronic-acid fillers can be dissolved — a safety and flexibility advantage.

Commonly Treats
  • Thin or asymmetric lips
  • Flattened cheeks and midface
  • Nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Under-eye hollows and fine lines
Immediate & reversible

You see the result right away, and because it’s hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved if you ever want a change.

The Products

The Restylane Family

Restylane isn’t a single product but a family of hyaluronic-acid fillers, each engineered for a specific job. Matching the right formula to the right area is what produces a natural, balanced result:

Restylane Kysse is designed for the lips — soft, flexible, and made to move naturally when you smile and speak. Restylane Lyft is firmer and more structural, ideal for restoring cheek volume and even the backs of the hands. Restylane Contour uses flexible “XpresHAn” technology for natural cheek definition that moves with your face. Restylane Defyne smooths deeper laugh lines and marionette lines while preserving expression, and Restylane Refyne does the same for more moderate folds.

How is this different from Juvéderm? Both are excellent hyaluronic-acid lines — the right choice comes down to the area, the look you want, and how a given gel behaves in your tissue. At your visit we’ll choose the specific product, or combination, that fits your goals.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does Restylane last?

Depending on the product and area, results typically last 6–18 months. Lip results tend to be on the shorter end, structural areas like cheeks on the longer end.

Is Restylane reversible?

Yes — because it's a hyaluronic-acid filler, it can be dissolved with an enzyme if you ever want to adjust or reverse the result.

Does it hurt?

Most Restylane products include a numbing agent, and we can add topical numbing. Most patients find it very tolerable.

Is there downtime?

Very little. Mild swelling or bruising can occur and settles over a few days; you can return to normal activities right away.

How is Restylane different from Botox?

Filler restores volume and smooths folds; Botox/Dysport relaxes muscles to soften dynamic wrinkles. Many patients combine the two.
