Fat Transfer
A natural, implant-free way to add modest breast volume and improve shape — using your own fat, harvested by liposuction, so you refine your waistline and enhance your breasts in a single procedure.
What Is Breast Fat Transfer?

Breast fat transfer — also called fat grafting or natural breast augmentation — enhances the breasts using your own fat instead of an implant. Fat is removed by liposuction from areas like the abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs, purified, and grafted into the breasts to add volume and improve shape.
Dr. Andre Y. Levesque performs breast fat transfer in Austin, TX. It appeals to patients who want a modest, natural increase in size without an implant, who prefer an improvement in shape and cleavage over a large size jump, and who like that the liposuction step refines the donor areas at the same time.
Fat transfer typically adds a modest amount of volume — roughly a half to one cup size per session — because grafted fat must stay in contact with well-vascularized tissue to survive. Some of the transferred fat is naturally reabsorbed, so results are intentionally conservative, with the biggest gains often in shape, the axilla-to-breast transition, and skin quality.
It is also an excellent tool for revision and asymmetry — softening implant edges, filling the upper pole, or balancing two sides — and can be combined with an implant or a lift for a more comprehensive result.
Two Procedures in One: Sculpt and Enhance
Breast fat transfer is really two procedures working together. The liposuction that harvests the fat also sculpts the donor area — the waist, flanks, or back — so patients often value the improved torso as much as the breast enhancement. The fat is then grafted in fine layers so it survives and integrates.
Dr. Levesque sets honest expectations: this is a natural, modest enhancement focused on shape and proportion, not a large-implant look. For patients who want exactly that — softness, a natural slope, no implant — it is an ideal choice, and the improvement in skin texture and thickness is a bonus that photographs cannot show.
What to Expect
From your first consultation to your final result, here's how the process works at Levesque Plastic Surgery.
Consultation
Dr. Levesque assesses your goals, breast shape, and available donor fat, and explains what a natural, fat-based enhancement can realistically achieve — including whether one session or two best fits your goal.
Surgery Day
Liposuction harvests and purifies your fat, which is then grafted in fine layers throughout the breast. The procedure takes 2–4 hours; most patients go home the same day.
Recovery & Results
Most return to desk work within a few days to a week. Some grafted fat reabsorbs over the first months; your final, stable volume is reached by 3–6 months.

Am I a Candidate?
Here's a general guide — Dr. Levesque will assess your candidacy personally at consultation.
Good Candidates Typically Have:
- A desire for a modest, natural increase in breast size without an implant
- More interest in improved shape, cleavage, and proportion than a large size jump
- Enough donor fat in the abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs to harvest
- Interest in refining the torso with liposuction at the same time
- Correcting rippling, a thin upper pole, or asymmetry (alone or with an implant)
- A stable weight and good overall health
Factors That May Affect Candidacy:
- Very thin patients with little donor fat to harvest
- A desire for a large, dramatic increase in size — an implant is more predictable
- Significant weight fluctuation — which changes grafted-fat volume
- Active smoking — which reduces fat-graft survival
What Does Breast Fat Transfer Cost?
Breast fat transfer cost reflects that it includes liposuction to harvest the fat as well as the grafting itself — effectively two procedures in one. Patients seeking a larger result sometimes plan two sessions, which affects total cost.
Cost depends on the number of areas liposuctioned, the volume transferred, surgical time, and facility and anesthesia fees.

What Patients Say

Dr. Andre Y. Levesque, MD
Fat transfer to the breast is one of my favorite tools because it does two things at once — it refines the torso where the fat is harvested and enhances the breast with the patient's own tissue. For the right patient, the result is completely natural because there is nothing artificial in the breast.
The key is honesty about what it achieves: a modest, believable increase in size and a real improvement in shape, cleavage, and skin quality. For patients who want exactly that, without an implant, it is an excellent choice — and it pairs beautifully with an implant or lift when more volume is needed.
