After major weight loss the skin doesn't retract, so the fix is direct removal plus rebuilding the core. Here liposuction refined the flanks, about 3 lbs of loose lower-abdominal skin was excised, and the separated rectus muscles were plicated back together.
Repairing the diastasis is what flattens the abdomen from the inside; the skin excision and liposuction then refine the outer contour. The scars are placed to hide under clothing and the belly button looks natural.
